Nikolaus Dietz areas of expertise are in advanced materials development and their linear and nonlinear optical properties analysis and defect spectroscopy. A main focus is on confined thin film compound semiconductors – e.g. III-P, III-N, III-IV-V2 and II-III-VI2 alloys – for electronic, optoelectronic, nonlinear optics, and nanoplasmonics. His laboratories at GSU are equipped with state-of-the art equipment for advanced materials growth and instrumentation for linear/nonlinear optical diagnostics and materials characterization. He has published more than 150 papers and reviews in applied physics and materials science journals and 6 patents (1 pending).
